Performance Notes
X-Sync is a synchronization script. However, it is important to keep in mind that the overall server and client performance can also affect its synchronization.
If synchronization feels inconsistent, work through the three checks below before changing anything in the config.
Client-side performance
First, you should use the F8 console and resmon 1 to identify scripts that are consuming a lot of client performance.
Keep in mind that anti-cheats normally have a higher resource usage, so this is not necessarily a problem.
Server-side performance
The same should be checked server-side using svgui. This allows you to identify resources that are consuming a significant amount of server performance.
Network events
Another very important factor is the number of network events. This is one of the main reasons why synchronization may not work properly for some players.
You can check this using:
F8 → Tools → Network → Network Event Log
Look for:
| What to look for | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Events with a very high size | Large payloads take longer to reach every client |
| Events that are triggered / spammed continuously | They flood the network layer even when each one is small |
A large number of network events, especially those with high data sizes, can negatively affect how X-Sync behaves and may prevent synchronization from working correctly.
